Megan Rogers, holding her day-old son, Owen, receives a "Purple Crying" DVD at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City. Rather than focus on shaking, the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome in Ogden now strives to educate parents about why babies cry and gives them tools to cope. Utah became the first state in the country to implement the Purple Crying program in all 39 of its birthing hospitals.
