"We'll have to bury a son, and the nation a hero." - Matthew Newman, father Newman, a 2001 graduate of Lone Peak High School in Highland, was killed while trying to dismantle an improvised explosive device. The senior airman was assigned to the 15th Civil Engineering Squadron's Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team, Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, Hawaii.
