"He didn't want people to think he was shirking his responsibilities as a father to go off to play war... It was not easy for him to leave his wife and children behind. He did not die doing what he loved — he died doing what he felt passionately about." — Clint Lamb, brother-in-law Lundell, 35, of West Valley City, was killed in a fire fight with guerilla fighters using small arms and rocket propelled grenades. The Army National Guard second lieutenant was assigned to the 1st Corps Artillery, Army National Guard, in Camp Williams.
