Starting just above the road, head southeast along flat ground through an exposed area with lush brush and bushes on each side of the trail. About 0.7 miles into the hike, the trail turns west and then north. There is a great view of the Salt Lake valley here. Continue northwest and north over small rocks and boulders as the trail begins to head slightly uphill. At 1.8 miles you will see a small stream on the left side of the trail. Follow the stream and cross it until you wind around into a lush meadow. From here it is all uphill. You reach the saddle at mile 2.4. From the saddle you can head right for another half mile and reach the ridgeline. óJason Bergreen

Directions: From Interstate 80, exit at the East Canyon offramp. Take a left and follow Highway 65 about three miles. Turn left and head up East Canyon until you wind around to Emigration Canyon. At the Emigration Canyon intersection, take a right into the residential area and drive about two miles until you reach a pulloff on the left side of the road. This is the unmarked trailhead.
