Antidepressant Use in Utah
Antidepressant use is twice as high among women as men in Utah and in some areas, reaches as high as one in five females, according to new prescription data released by the Utah Department of Health.
And while some cling to a stereotype of Utah County women needing the most help to battle depression, they are the least likely to have a prescription. It’s women in northern Utah — Roy, Hooper, Riverdale, Brigham City — who have some of the highest usage rates.
